There are several key factors that play a role in determining the outcome when consuming cannabis. These all play a part in your emotional and physical state, so they’re worth keeping track of.
But always remember the golden rule: “start low and go slow”.
1. The Product/Bud
It all starts with what you are putting into your body. The old adage of garbage in, garbage out really does apply here.
With cannabis, you get many different strains, grown by many different farmers in many different ways, and finally given to you in many different forms. With all these variables in the mix, it’s not surprising that the final outcome of the plant can vary so much, and thus its effect on your body.
It’s important that you are smoking HIGH QUALITY weed. There is nothing worse than consuming some backyard special jut, usually packaged in a matchbox with lots of seeds and stems. This is a sure-fire way to give yourself a headache and very minimal positive effects from your weed.
On the other end of the spectrum, smoking high grade indoor can lead to most overdoing it and feeling very overwhelmed by the experience if they have a low tolerance.
My suggestion is to start with some quality greenhouse and only take a few puffs and see how you feel.
The way one ingests cannabis can also lead to different effects.
I have listed below the order of potency, starting from weakest to strongest. But as stated above the strength/quality of your cannabis will also affect these consumption methods.
· Edible (Please note edibles last the longest and have a different psychoactive effect when passed through the digestive system)
2. The Environment
Don’t smoke at your grandma’s house! The environment and who you smoke with can make or break your experience.
If one is in a comfortable place, with chilled tunes and their good mates that can help pull them out of some dark thoughts, chances are things won’t go wrong.
We suggest listening to this chilled out Spotify playlist, getting a warm cup of rooibos ready and plonking yourself in a big fatsak in a room full of friends – let the good times roll… no pun intended 😉
3. You (Yes You!)
You are the creator of your own reality, so if you are feeling down or having a bad time don’t smoke weed. Deal with your sh*t first and then get to smoking the green.
With most psychoactive substances you are either going to be doing a lot of internal work or having the best time of your life. So if you are prone to freaking out when you aren’t in control I really do suggest making sure all your mental ducks are in a row before embarking on a journey with the sticky icky.
Peace be the journey ✌️
