Goodleaf, Cape Town’s First CBD Dispensary

Shortly after South Africa’s Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, legalised the commercialisation of Cannabidiol (CBD), Cape Town already has a dispensary. All thanks to the good people from Goodleaf.

Founded by Jenni Katz and Warren Schewitz, Goodleaf provides “the next generation of wellness rituals, engineered by nature to restore balance.”

Goodleaf provides an array of products, including topicals, tinctures and vape juices. The CBD used to create their products is found and extracted from the Cannabis plant.

Since its discovery, CBD has been utilised to treat insomnia, chronic pain, epilepsy, and even Parkinson’s.

According to Katz, who was quoted in a MyCityByNight article stated that the dispensary has been designed to emulate what the brand stands for.

“The store embodies everything Goodleaf stands for – open and accessible, sophisticated and stylish. We always believed there was a huge opportunity to offer consumers an educated and curated experience in a welcoming environment,” Katz stated.

CBD enthusiasts can find Goodleaf on one of the busiest streets in Cape Town. Those who want to embrace the magic of CBD will find it at the Tiny Empire building in Buitenkant Street.

What can you buy?

Goodleaf provides the latest selection of hemp-derived CBD goodies. You can get it all – from tinctures and vapes, to topicals from international brands such as Select CBD, Dr Kerklaan and Herb Essntls.

What will it cost?

CBD products aren’t exactly cheap. But, seeing as CBD is viewed as a medicinal alternative to prescription medication, this should be no surprise.

Can their products make you ‘high’?

The most common question about CBD. The short answer to this is, no. CBD products from Goodleaf are not made with amounts of THC that provide a high effect.

The CBD they utilise comes from the sativa plant, but the THC is left out. This means that the components of the plant that are used in their CBD products are those with healing properties and nothing more.

One can expect to feel the relaxation and calmness that comes with CBD. If you’re rather looking for the high from cannabis, it would be best to stick to good old bud for now.
